Liverpool Football Club
John Houlding the leaseholder of Anfield purchased the ground outright and Everton Football Club (founded in 1878) players played there from 1884. In only six years the rent at Anfield had more than doubled and so Everton players decided to move to Goodison Park, leaving John Houlding with an empty ground and only three players. It was then that John Houlding founded his own club in 1892 and called it Liverpool Football Club. One John Mckenna was appointed director of the club and went to Scotland to sign thirteen professional players. From there on Liverpool have always been in the top tier of football and have won a huge amount of cups, trophys, medals and leagues.
